Michael Banovsky. The spiel over there is not enough!

Michael Banovsky is our fearless leader here at The Carchat. The bloke that got this crazy freight train of gearhead shenanigans (officially: collaborative automotive insight) rolling. Between regularly scheduled tweets about catty women who leave and womeny cats who show up and sleep seductively on model cars, Michael encourages conversation on a broad range of topics which serve to expand the minds of enthusiasts across the globe. Oh yeah, and he also reviews cars like a proper automotive journalist once in a while.  Consider what he had to say in a piece about the Toyota Yaris hatchback...and the value of a dollar:

My $7 meal — three barely-there “Double Decker” tacos, satchel of fries, and a regular (read: enormous) Dr Pepper soda — will produce barely enough energy to get me to the toilet and back. Far more memorable was the amount of paper it produced, enough to make me weep for Brazilian rain forests, but not enough to entertain my cat for longer than four minutes."

It was a thoughtful piece on "The Budget Equation."  Banovsky is a regular voice here, on Twitter, on his own site, Banovsky.com (where he also does a brilliant podcast with Derek Kreindler and Nauman Farooq), on autoguide.com, on several Canadian media outlets I am sadly unable to recall from my living room in Phoenix, and is the subject of a rather large bronze statue in Derek Kreindler's living room.

(Thanks, Brian, for that stirring report. I edited a few things, but left the glowing praise. –Ed.)
